"My true hero answers to the name, Ginger Senseman, M.D. Dr. Senseman holds and forever deserves my trust, my loyalty, my heart, and my life. On April 15, 2000 my first and only child was born as a still born due to last minute complications in the delivery process. The O.B. nurses, Connie Jo, Connie Lou, and Betty preformed CPR on my son and were able to revive him after six minutes of no life. My son was taken to the nursery were doctor Senseman took over, amazing her that there was still a baby to work on (thinking he was going to remain dead). My newborn baby coded on Dr. Senseman twice in the nursery that night giving her the feeling that a chance for survival was very slim. But he continued to astonish her and everyone around him. After he received a complete blood transfusion, a tube ran down his throat to his lungs to assist in his breathing, and a bandage sling wrapped around his arm and shoulder to protect his broken clavicle bone he started to stabilize. My son had so many monitors and tubes around and on him that my husband and I never got to hold him that night. The tube running down his throat made a screaming, red-faced baby, silent. I will never forget the pain but relief I felt when I finally got to see him and new that he was alive. Even today, the memory of him at that point brings tears to my eyes. Later on, Dr. Senseman told us that the only reason we got to see him when we did was because she didn’t believe he would survive past the night.
When Dr. Senseman called for a meeting in my delivery room after two hours of fighting to keep him alive, she braced us for the reality of the situation. Dr. Senseman informed us that our son was being taken to Wesley Medical Center for better observation but the hardest thing for her to tell us was that she was unsure of the amount of brain damage he would suffer from. The long-term severity of his birth never hit so hard as it did at that moment. Since that night, Dr. Senseman has continued to keep a close watch on my son. She has a strong attachment to him and his amazing progress. Thanks to her and many others, my son has made 150% turn around with absolutely no brain damage. Dr. Senseman has played and continues to be an extremely important role in his life and in ours. Though it is what she went to school for many years to do when called upon, I can never express the amount of gratitude I have for her doing such an amazing job with our son. Time will come and go and I am sure that many others doctors will also, but the memory of that night and the God gifted staff that were there will never be forgotten in our minds and I strongly doubt in their minds either. Dr. Senseman is my true hero and I owe everything I have and more to her, especially my miracle child."

"Our two boys started seeing Dr. Senseman in the spring of 2005. They had previously been seen by a General Physician. We were not satisfied with the care that our boys were getting. They had several different health issues that were not being addressed. We made the decision to try a Pediatric Physician We were told about Dr. Ginger Senseman and decided to give her a try. Our initial appointment with her, she listened to our concerns and questions. She asked questions and seemed very interested in the health of our boys. She made us feel like we were special and that she had our boys best interests in her care. She did blood tests, a full physical and in her words “Tuned up our boys”. We since then have found out that with just a little TLC and care from her, our kids are not as bad off as we thought. Since then we have added another addition to the family. He was born with some health issues and was put in the hospital on more than one occasion. When she would come to do her rounds, Dr. Senseman took the time to answer any question, tell us about any lab results that she had back and explain what was happening and what was going to happen.
Dr. Senseman always talks to my children instead of over them. She asks how they feel, if they hurt, and she treats them like they are real people. We have a lot of respect for her for that, because our boys are people to.
We feel like our boys deserve the very best and they have it with Dr. Senseman. We hope she knows how much we LOVE HER.
Thank you for all you do
-Love, The Schmidt’s
